Iran animation to use Dolby Atmos

Sound designer for Iran animation ‘The Last Fiction’ says the production is set to be mixed in surround sound technology Dolby Atmos.

Ali Reza Alavian was quoted on Sunday by local media as saying, “General flow of the animated film and the possibility for its international distribution offered the chance to use the technology”, adding, “This is the first Iranian movie using the Dolby Atoms mix."

Dolby Atmos is a sound technology that places and moves sound all around the audience.

The animated film directed by Ashkan Rahgozar is the story of an evil figure in Iranian mythology, Zahak. It is an open interpretation of the story from Iran’s history.

The film won recognition and was presented as one of the best ongoing projects at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. It was also invited to the Marché du Film (lit. Film Market), which is the business counterpart of the Cannes Film Festival and one of the largest film markets in the world.
